About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - LaMadrid Malbec

Name: LaMadrid Malbec

Variety: 100% Malbec
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Year: 2008
Price: $13.95
Shop Review: 90 points, Wine Advocate.  Fragrant aromas of Asian spices, incense, cassis, tobacco and violets inform the nose of a layered, spicy, nicely balanced wine with a forward personality.
My Review: This Malbec is a dark ruby, with very thin legs.  It has a complex aroma.  I smelled a mix of dark cherry, floral scents, dark fruits and some sweetness.  However, it’s taste was very different and tasted very dry with tobacco flavors.

I had this wine alone without any food.
