About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - Crucero Syrah Reserve

Name: Crucero Syrah Reserve

Variety: Syrah
Region: Colchagua Valley
Country: Chile
Year: 2008
Price: $13.95
Shop Review: Syrah, the legendary grape of the Norhtern Rhone AOC’s of Cote Rotie, Hermitage, and Cornas delivers ample flavor for a reasonable price.  This Reserve Syrah is aged in Frehnch oak for 6 months.  The wine exhibits ripe black fruit flavors and a touch of white pepper.  This medium bodied red wine will age well for 3-5 years.  Serve with red meat, game, and stews.
My Review: This wine is ruby in color with a slight purple tinge.  For some reason, there is a slight green apple aroma, along with oakiness.  It has a flavor completely different from its aroma with dark fruit and dryness.

I had this wine alone without any food.
