About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - Crucero Sauvignon Blanc

Name: Crucero Sauvignon Blanc

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Curico Valley
Country: Chile
Year: 2011
Price: $9.95
Shop Review: Sauvignon Blanc is the fabled grape of both Bordeaux Blanc and the Loire Valley (Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume).  This varietal exhibits aromas of musk melon, pine, and grass.  The finish is zesty and citrus-like, and goes very well with chicken and seafood.
My Review: This Sauvignon Blanc is pale hay in color.  It had aromas of melon, pineapple and mangos.  It tastes like sweet pineapple and other tropical fruits, with a slightly tart taste as well.  Overall, it was very tropical in both aroma and taste.

I had this wine alone without any food.
