About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - Faraway Farm Cabernet Sauvignon

Name: Faraway Farm Cabernet Sauvignon

Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Western Cape
Country: South Africa
Year: 2008
Price: $15
Shop Review: There is a special place in Africa, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, where soaring mountains dominate the stark landscape.  Tucked away behind these mountains you will find our vineyard.  This is the home of Faraway Farm.  Our Cabernet Sauvignon will spoil you with rich flavors of ripe blackberry and plums.  Drink with close friends.
My Review: This wine was a dark red, almost brown.  There are aromas and flavors of blackberry.  This wine had harsh tannins and an oaky/woody taste.

I had this wine alone without any food.
