About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - Les Traverses de Fontanès Cabernet Sauvignon

Name: Les Traverses de Fontanès Cabernet Sauvignon

Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Languedoc-Roussillon
Country: France
Year: 2009
Price: $9.95
Shop Review: Being rebellious seems to come naturally to a man of such innate talent, and the elegance of his wines are proof enough in a region where bigger is often considered better.  Make no mistake, raw terroir and spicy garrigue abound in these wines, with rich, juicy fruit and silky tannins.
My Review: This wine has a ruby color and slightly musty and hay aromas.  It has a strawberry and spicy taste with musty undertones and a musty finish, and I don’t even know if musty is something you can taste!  If rebellious means making a wine somehow taste fruity, spicy and musty at the same time, mission accomplished.

I had this wine alone without any food.
