About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - Viña Santurnia Crianza

Name: Viña Santurnia Crianza

Variety: Tempranillo
Region: Rioja
Country: Spain
Year: 2006
Price: $12.99
Shop Review: Very classic, traditional styling, with a terrific balance between mouthwatering berry fruit and damp forest floor nuances.  Traditional Rioja, with its Burgundian characteristics and slightly plumper fruit profile, works wonders with food.
My Review: This wine was delicious!  It had a cherry-chocolate nose, and a smooth, balanced, cherry taste.  It was unexpectedly sweet for a red wine, and in a word, yum!  I would love to have this with lasagna made with my family’s home-made spaghetti sauce!

I had this wine alone without any food.
