About Me

Hi! I'm Christina, and I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech! I'm in Northern VA now pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'd like to continue what I learned from the Geography of Wine class I took in Spring of 2012, so I'll be posting about different wines and wine events. I would be very grateful for suggestions, and I'm open to expanding my posts to beer and liquor as well!

Tasting - Beringer Pinot Noir

Name: Beringer Pinot Noir

Variety: Pinot Noir
Region: Napa Valley
Country: United States
Year: 2008
Price: $8
Shop Review: Pinot Noir always presents an incredible array of characteristics, beginning with aromas of chocolate covered cherries, candied violets and traces of anise and mint that greet the nose.  Vibrant red fruit flavors are accentuated by bright acidity, hints of smoke and barrel toast.  The 2008 Napa Valley Pinot Noir has a lovely richness and weight, making it a wonderful pairing for many richer dishes.
My Review: My experience of the wine was quite different as described above.  To me, it had a blackberry and grapefruit nose.  The taste was grapefruity, with a slightly bitter and dry finish.

I had this wine alone without any food.
